Beijing Olympic Games: Days 15 and 16

Australia (like every other country) will be hoping to finish the Beijing games on a high, and Lee Troop may just be the man for the job when he takes to the marathon course on Sunday (from about 9.30 am).

Before him, Saturday night is all about the Opals. If our women's basketball team can topple the Americans and claim Olympic gold (from midnight), the celebrations will be as good as any we've ever seen.

The Kookaburras, our men's hockey team, won't be going for gold, unfortunately, but they can claim the bronze if they can beat arch-rival the Netherlands (from 8pm) in the prelude to the gold-medal match, the one they really wanted.

Other medal chances on Saturday include our mountain bikers - Dellys Starr in the women's race (about midday) and Daniel McConnell in the men's (from 5 pm) - Ken Wallace in the final of the kayak K1 500 metres (about 5.30 pm) and Hannah Davis and Lyndsie Fogarty in the women's K2 500m final (about 7.20 pm).

As we farewell the Bird's Nest, Jarrod Bannister will be in the final of the javelin (from about 9.10 pm) and giving us a long, last loving look at the Water Cube will be Mathew Helm and Matthew Mitcham in the semi-final of the 10m platform diving (from around midday) and hopefully also the final (about 10 pm).

And if you haven't quite had enough Aussie Olympic action come Sunday, tune in as our men's water polo team plays for their final ranking. It will be either seventh or eighth, depending on the result of the match (12.50 pm).
