Editorial Review

Quays restaurant has been in the Mercure Hotel, Brisbane for a number of years but in recent months has undergone a refurbishment. The bar has a warm and modern feel and, with its new facelift, appeals to a business clientele and local regulars. There is an extensive wine list that features many Queensland-based wineries plus a variety of cocktails and beers. The restaurant offers an a la carte menu Sunday through to Saturday - with the added option of a seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights. The seafood buffet is available for $59.00 per person. Quays also offers a healthy and very popular a la carte children's menu with prices starting from $8.50.

The seafood buffet offers an abundantly stocked hot and cold selection, while the in-house pastry chef bakes fresh desserts every Friday and Saturday afternoon for dinner service. Cakes, pavlovas, tarts, biscuits and profiteroles are some of the items available on the dessert buffet and coffee and tea are also provided. Executive chef, Troy Bedford and sous chef, Anthony Smith have put together a menu that covers all facets of modern Australian cuisine - from chicken and slow roast pork through to sirloin and Wagyu served with Caesar salad and Kipfler potatoes. The bar menu boasts favourites such as club sandwiches, burgers and pad Thai with prawns, beef or chicken.
