Editorial Review
Huong's Restaurant can be found atop an unassuming set of stairs in the heart of West End and is so popular that people travel from as far afield as Ipswich for the special san choy bow and spicy quail dishes. The inviting and exotic decor make the restaurant a relaxing spot to dine and the restaurant regularly fills to capacity with happy guests. There are eight banquet options on the menu, all featuring the most popular dishes from Vietnam, China and Thailand. Owner Pranee Morgan is known for her exquisite Thai cooking, and has sponsored another Thai chef (a specialist in Chinese cuisine) and a Vietnamese chef to join her in preparing meals.
One of the most popular dishes available is the barramundi pan-fried in lemongrass, spices, chilli and served with a Thai salad. The Vietnamese noodle salads are also a must-try. Spring rolls, while more expensive than most, are about double the size, filled with quality ingredients and served with freshly prepared Thai dipping sauce. For more conservative eaters all the old Chinese favourites are featured on the menu, too. A separate function area is available for parties at no extra cost. Huong's Restaurant is also more than accommodating for vegetarians and people with gluten intolerances.
