The Waifs show their home state some love with shows up and down the west coast.

Editorial Review

Recording an album in Nashville, Tennessee, is many a band's dream. The kind of thing aspiring musicians daydream about while waiting in line at the Centrelink office. The Waifs made that dream a reality last year. Five years since the multi-platinum success of their Up All Night album, they packed their bags and set out for dusty Nashville to record a new LP.

The Deep South obviously inspired the Perth band, because they came back to Australia with Sun, Dirt, Water, their fifth album. The release debuted at number two on the local charts and saw the group nominated for a whole stack of awards. It also saw them head overseas for extensive jaunts around Europe and the US - playing several high-profile festivals in the process.

Now back in the country, the group are showing their homeland some love with shows up and down the west coast. While they may not release albums very often, the results are always worth the wait. You could say the same thing about their accompanying tours. And hey, if they're good enough to impress Bob Dylan and go on tour with him, they're obviously doing something right.
