An easy way to describe the cocktail bar at Garuva Hidden Tranquility Restaurant is a calming, comfortable garden paradise. With palm plants and rock pools, low lighting and soft music, the effect is quite calming - almost like stepping into … a garden of hidden tranquility! Well, almost like. What this garden lacks in true tranquility, it makes up for in alcoholic treats.
The staff here are very proud of the additions made to the ever-changing cocktail list. The Garuva Grabber (the house favourite) is a fruity mix of mango liqueur, peach schnapps, cream and mango pulp. Not one to have before a meal, but should do as a meal replacement. If you're after something more adventurous, try a Garuva Screw - gin, Galliano, Cointreau and OJ, topped with passionfruit pulp - for a dry but fruity punch in the chops. And apart from the double entendre cocktails, there's also a nice selection of beers and pre-mixed drinks.
And on weekends you can catch a bit of live music. Pull up a cushion on the floor and wrap your ears around some live jazz and blues, cover acts and the occasional folk artist. Definitely not a bar for those wanting a big night out; more suited to those after a relaxing evening in a more tranquil setting than a pub or pick-up joint.
