Your appointment will be with Dr Michael Gattas MB BS, FRACP. Dr Gattas is a Clinical Geneticist accredited by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.

Dr Gattas trained as a Paediatrician (a Children's Specialist) in Sydney and Brisbane and then did further training in Genetics in Melbourne and Birmingham, England.

He has a particular interest in familial cancer but also a broad range of experience in paediatric, IVF, and antenatal genetic counselling.

Dr Gattas has been working full time as a Clinical Geneticist in Queensland since 1996. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, University of Queensland. Occasionally a genetic counselling student or junior doctor may sit in on the consultation for training purposes, but only if you give permission for this to occur.
